My House

Map image

There ya go.

I'm not a girl

I just noticed that there is a header on this page claming that I'm a girl named Sonja.  I'm not.  I'm pretty sure who put that there.  Now I gotta figure out how to get rid of it.

Windows Live Writer

I installed the latest version of Windows Live Writer (v.3).  I'm not sure how I like it yet.

I'm gonna try to put in another picture of the top of my house.  Oh, one great thing about Live Writer: Spell check.

Here's my house (if it works):

Hey!  It appears to have worked!  That's our house.  The one on the right of the middle two.  That's our minivan, so this is a fairly recent picture.  Kewl.

Background texture

Hey! My background texture just up and disappearerd. I should probably change it. I should probably change the title of the blog too.

Rush at His Finest

Here's an article on the subject with updates of the current bid.

He's so much smarter than them.

Update:
I was hoping that EBay would have something like this. Here's the current bid:

Showing this program to Sonja

I'm showing this program to Sonja (the wife).

She's odd.

Pretty, but odd.

La prova di quarto (the forth test)

Well, after the second test wouldn't post, I tried a third test that worked (slowly) and so I re-tried the previously unpostable second test, and that worked too... Odd...

This is starting to remind me of the movie "Primer," which I both suggest you see and warn you against.  It was a great movie, but at the end, my head imploded.

It Worked

Hey, it worked.  I wonder what else I could do....

Well, this is our house (the one on the right), at the moment I don't know if this program will save this picture as a "one time snapshot" or if it will link it to Microsoft Virtual Earth and, hence, update the picture whenever MS VE updates (don't really know if it will make much difference, but I think about stuff like this).

The new blogging program seems to be working rather well.

It's called "Windows Live Writer" and can be found here.  It's still in beta but seems okay.  I had to tell it where my FTP folder was and such, but that might just be because I host my blog on my own site instead of keeping it on blogger's server.

This article says something about blogging tools being part of Word 2007.  I have beta lying around here somewhere, might have to check that out.

Along with this handy new tool came the option of installing Windows Live Toolbar for Internet Explorer 6, which I would also recommend if only for the added functionality of tabbed browsing that it brings with it (I would not, however recommend the optional Windows Search that comes along with it, I installed that once and didn't find it useful).

---I just used the spell check and the only "errors" that it found were the words "blogging" and "blogger's."  Those words weren't in it's dictionary.  I find that ironic.

hmmmm.....How 'bout the colors? That seemed to work pretty well.

Then there's justifying.

Looking good so far.  Of course this will all probably look like absolute garbage in Firefox.

  1. The bullets
  2. are cute.
  3. Let's see if I can change them....
  4. Doesn't look like it.  What about numbering?
  5. This doesn't look numbered.....

hmmmmm, I think I've found a glitch.

Yep, the thing just opened up an "error report" window.  ooops.  I think I'll publish this before it disappears.

--Update...

The irony continues.  Windows Live Writer refuses to publish this post (perhaps inaptly titled "It Worked").  It gives no error, but just keeps trying and trying...

---Update 2.0 "Update United"

Still won't post.  I'm going to try removing the Microsoft Virtual Earth map at the top.

---Update 3

Still won't post, and I just found out that it can't undo after a save (at least it can't undo a map deletion).  The only recourse now is probably to restart Windows and try again.  Or, I could check my ftp settings...hold on.

Nope, everything there looks hunky-dory.

Third test

This is my third test of M$oft's new blogging software.

The second test failed.

That's why you can't see it.

Testing Microsoft's new WYSIWYG Blog Editor

I can't figure out how to move this picture yet.

Cute kid, eh?

Popular Mechanics - Debunking The 9/11 Myths

I've been noticing a lot more 9/11 conspiracy theorists popping up lately. My feelings about these people could fill a couple of web pages, but not today. Today I simply post a link to a good article (although I wish it went into more detail) that contains short refutations to their main claims.

Kittenwar!

To be purrfectly (get it?) honest when I first followed this link, this wasn't what I was expecting.

Even dead people can't escape AOL

Hey. Yikes, AOL, eh?

Just moved

I just moved to this new server and, of course, had to fiddle with stuff and change settings on blogger.com.

I am officially re-commiting myself to post daily... or weakly... or whatever. Well, I'm still ahead of Nate (hee, hee, hee), compared to him I'm Walt Frikin' Whitman.

See you in the Fall.

"Talk to the cross"

"May 16 [2006]: A Greek Orthodox woman holding a crucifix protests 'The Da Vinci Code' in front of the parliament in Athens."

I saw this picture attatched to this story, I wasn't sure wheather to label it "talk to the cross" or "giving a reporter the crucifix," but I really like this lady.

I want this picture on a t-shirt.
